Well hello Bath!

It is shocking how fast time is flying now! It seems just like yesterday I was meeting everyone for the first time and getting to know my house mates. Now we're like a little family! My exams are looming and soon it'll be revision a go-go, but for now I'm concentrating on my last two assignments and then boom, it's done. My first academic year completed. Scary.

So I returned to Bath only to find the most adorable, springy and fluffy little lambs frolicking about outside my window, looking outrageously cute. Unfortunately I couldn't get any photos as my camera is devoid of all battery life but soon I promise!

Hopefully it's not chucking it down with rain where you are too!

Back to the Blue Lagoon

It's that time of year when the spring blossoms begin to burst into life, the birds are flitting about in the garden and the skies seem to get bluer and bluer. It's one of my favourite things to go walking around the little lake around the corner of my house and see the seasons changing before my very eyes. I've seen lots of butterflies, dragonflies, rabbits and even a muntjac deer around the lake! It makes me happy to know that even though I live in a city that there is a wealth of hidden wildlife about.

I love it when the blossoms come out!

I also went for a little walk down some pathways I'd never even seen before or been down and found a whole other hidden area to the Blue Lagoon, so I am very excited about doing some more exploring before I go back to university. This Easter break has been a mixture of ups and downs but it's always so nice to see everyone, have a catch-up and get back in the loop before descending back into the fray at university.

Recently I've found myself becoming quite low again and am constantly worrying about little things, such as a few fun parties which I should be looking forward to at university, but instead am getting anxious and nervous about it. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this or how they've coped with these feelings, but I'd love any advice you guys have. I'm trying to think more positively and just have a happier outlook in general; it's always tough to forget stresses that are going on but I'm devoting so much time to being stressed that I am just not enjoying myself, which is terrible. So when I go back to university I'm not going to entertain my stressed self as much as I have been doing. I need a break!

I even took a short video of the tree blossoms.

I'm also going to be uploading a little vlog here and there and I'm going to be adding lots more short videos to my Youtube channel, so I'll put the link in the Contacts page for you to go and have a look at them.

I hope you all had a good start to the week.

Toy Horses and Guinea-Pigs

Last weekend my adorable 7 year old cousin Charlotte came to visit, which involved playing with toy horses, indulging in some Easter goodies and dealing with a child's logic. To say I was exhausted by the end of the day would be an understatement!

It was so funny to hear her saying she wanted a pet tarantula and snake already, as at her age I was running around saying the exact same thing! She's got a real love for nature already and has an amazing imagination. I kind of don't want her to grow up but she's already sprouting up from being a tiny, little thing.

Charlotte loves the guinea-pigs and it looks like the feeling is mutual. Smudge and Patch happily sat on her lap for ages. So cute.

Charlotte took these photos of the boys. A budding photographer as well, me-thinks.

I hope everyone's having a good week!

Spring Cleaning

I hope everyone had a nice break over the weekend and is looking forward to the week ahead. I've been really lack with my Monthly posts recently but that's simple due to university and sorting lots of things out before I go back in a couple of weeks' time. At the moment I'm channelling a lot of my energy into sorting out my room which has included getting rid of  a lot of things or turning them into something else. They say a change is as good as a rest so I've been taking full advantage of that notion!

I've also been sorting out and re-discovering a lot of blogs. It's very easy to forget certain blogs and fall out of regularly reading them so don't be surprise if this week I un-subscribe and re-subscribe as I am completely sorting out my blogroll once and for all, so I'm going to start from the basics and then re-add everyone again.

Yesterday I got my camera out and photographed the tree in our garden as the first shoots of Spring are beginning to come through, which can only mean one thing - it shouldn't be long until we get a warm week of weather again! I'm so looking forward to relaxing in the garden with a book, a glass of Dr Pepper and good company.

Enjoy the rest of your evenings everyone!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely day and more than making up for any Lent choices you made by indulging this weekend. Mum and I made some shrink-wrapped hard-boiled eggs for some decorations around the house and I got some Easter bonnets and chicks for just 99p from Card Factory!

Easter always makes me feel hopeful, whether you are religious or not it has special meaning for me with the resurrection and the meaning and symbolism behind it all. Lots of new life, new beginnings and a positive way forward! No matter what has come before it's always a way to start over. And yes, can you tell I was cooing for hours over the little chicks?

I hope you all have a great weekend, however you spend it and celebrate it!

One Day Without Shoes

Every once in a while there's a campaign which always catches my eye and gets me thinking and talking about it. The lovely people behind TOMS have highlighted the issues and concerns surrounding the lack of footwear that many children in developing countries have.

In response the campaign One Day Without Shoes aims to raise awareness by spending the entire day, or a morning, evening or an hour without shoes. Whether you're at the office, in university, at school, at the beach or the park - go barefoot!

I think this is a fantastic campaign to get involved in and hopefully it'll be hot and summery on the 10th so lots of people running around barefoot will go nicely with the weather :P

If you want to find out more, head over to the main website here

I hope everyone's enjoying their Easter break, to everyone else whose still at work/school/university - tomorrow's Thursday, the weekend will be here soon!

Gorgeous Glamorgan

Once again I have seriously neglected the blog, but I have been replying to comments on and off so hopefully you've stuck around. I'm finally on my Easter holidays and the majority of my assignments are now finished until my exams begin in May, so yay! On the 27th March it was our last geography field-trip before the Easter holidays, which was a blessing as it was so nice to get off campus and out of the classroom for a day. We travelled to Glamorgan in South Wales along the coastline to Ogmore-on-Sea and Southerndown.

Some of the breccias and limestone rocks you can find on the shoreline at Ogmore-on-Sea. I loved the different colourations in the rocks. Some were much lighter than others simply due to weathering.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous with scorching temperatures. At one point everyone was just fanning themselves with their hands because of the heat. It was good we were on the coast that day as the breeze from the sea tempered the heat. I also had a serious geek out looking at the stunning wave-cut platforms at Southerndown.

I had a fantastic day and it was so nice to see such a beautiful part of the UK. I'd not been to Glamorgan before so it was really nice to get away for the day and be by the seaside! Polly and I had a great time walking around looking like cavers with our hard hat's on, haha!

Glamorgan is a stunning area and I learnt so much. If you ever get the chance to visit it, make sure you do, it's well worth the trip.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and you're all looking forward to Easter.
